"The first annual Peace Dot Love Festival is inspired by Dylan Ellis and Oliver Martin who were senselessly taken from us in an act of random gun violence in June of 2008. Friends, family and the community at large struggled to make sense of the void left by Dylan and Oliver, and what they found was increased violence affecting the city of Toronto and the GTA and a growing need to take immediate action.Through a collective effort Leave Out Violence, Peace Builders International and D.O it! created Peace Dot Love to support national and local anti-violence initiatives through a music platform to educate, empower, inspire hope and change in our community. With an overall effort of raising youth awareness through the power of music and art, Peace Dot Love will take place at the Kool Haus on Thursday, June 18th 2009 from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am."
14 different artists and bands will be performing including Down with Webster, and We are the Take (both CD's are available at jacflash!), The Stereos (drummer Aaron Verdonk worked with jacflash before launching off with his band!), Anna Cyzon (jacflash is dressing Anna tonight!), Mookie Morris, Dragonette and many more amazing bands.
